The Catholic University Institute of Buea today join the rest of Buea Dioceses to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the priestly ordination of Rev. Fr George Nkeze.
The event that took place at the Catholic University Institute of Buea equally saw the launching of the Catholic Beraka Ministry of Rev. Fr George Nkeze and the launching of his new Book captioned “Berakah an Authentic African Eucharistic Spirituality”
The event had in attendance Bishop Immanuel Bushu, Rev. Sisters, priests, Catholic Christians and invited personalities from within and out of Cameroon.
Speaking during the mass Rev. Fr. Leke Charles from US, stated by highlighting the journey of Rev. Fr. Nkeze 25th years as a priest in which he mentioned that Rev. Fr Nkeze was posted in Bangam for his first assignment as a priest in which he was later on transfer to Mamfe and later on reassigned to Bangem to help solve the educational crisis that was on going in Bangem.
After haven solved the problems he was later transferred to Mutengene at Regina Pacis College Mutengene as a principal in which he transformed the school and made the environment conducive for learning.
Rev. Fr. George Nkeze was then send to Saint Joseph College Sase were he went and developed the school and brought back the standard of the school
He then moved from Saint Joseph College Sase to Rome for further studies and upon returning he was made the Catholic Educational Secretary in which at the time the duty of the Catholic Educational Secretary was limited only to court cases between teachers and the administration as teachers take home packages could barely take them home.
He came in and transform the system, improved on the salary conditions of teachers and made their home packages to actually take them home this action brought him lots of enemies who were benefiting from the corrupt system as a result attempt was made to kill him but God protected him to continue to work in his vineyard.
He was later appointed the pioneer president of Catholic University Institute of Buea then known as UIDB, and three months into his administration he was sacked by Bishop Bushu Balanjo based on fake news of allege embezzlement finance by distractors and hatters of progress.
When asked why he was sacked the Bishop told him it was for precautionary reasons, later he was reappointed as President of CUIB to rescue the school from collapsing caused by the new management.
He came in and reorganized the school and today the school is experiencing growth.
Rev.Fr George is a visionary builder he is the one who has made catholic teachers in the Buea dioceses to have good salaries.
The mission of the Berakah Ministry is to form the minds and hearts of African Catholics and people of Goodwill in the Hebrew Berakah Spirituality and worship tradition as lived by Jesus and passed on to the Church at the Last Supper in obedience to the Father’s will.
